Paris

Since we were in Germany for the course of two weeks, we had a weekend in between where we had time to explore. We decided since we were all the way in Europe, we might as well take advantage so we hopped on a plane and flew to Paris (only a one hour flight). Mind you this was only after 3 hours of sleep due to Octoberfest the night before but we decided we'll just sleep when we get back to the States. :) Anyways....here are a few pictures of Paris.

Arc de Triomphe

From underneath the Arc de Triomphe looking up. Very beautiful.

The garden's in front of the Louvre

The Louvre. We didn't go in to see any of the exhibits due to time, but the outside was very pretty and monumental.

A gift from Egypt with the Eiffel Tour in the background.

Bridge of Hearts....lots of locks.

Front side of Notre Dame

Back side of Notre Dame

Inside Notre Dame

Side view of Notre Dame as we were walking away.

A crazy guy that charged you to take a picture. I thought....why not. :)

Sacre Couer at night.

Moulin Rouge

Arc de Triomphe at night

Eiffel Tour at night

That's the statue of Liberty there in the middle.

Second day, we hiked to the 2nd platform of the Eiffel Tour. 669 steps. :)

Half way up...on the first landing.

Lots of pictures with the Eiffel Tour. :)

This bridge reminded me of the movie Inception

Statue of Liberty

A joke....since we were in the city of romance.

Part of the bridge that reminded me of Inception.

Germany Part 3 - Octoberfest

On Friday night September 27th after work we had the pleasure of joining our German co-worker at Octoberfest in Muenster, Germany. Octoberfest orginated in Munich of course but according to our friends here, the Muenster Octoberfest is pretty much the same, they just have one tent rather than a couple. Anyways, it was an AMAZING time. We had so much fun....really a once in a lifetime experience.
walking into the tent.

Front page of the menu

Before it got super crowded. This is me with Marion (from Germany) and Rebecca.

Our waitress. She looked like Jessica from True Blood to me. :) Very pretty. We saw waitresses carrying as many as 8 mugs at a time. Each mug holds 1 liter of beer. Very heavy.

Ready for the fun to begin.

Midway through they served pretzels. YUM

Beer and Pretzel at Octoberfest in Germany? Yes Please!

Shots....Uh Oh.

Germany Part 2 - Running

Yesterday Rebecca and I went running again and this time I brought my camera to capture some of the beautiful scenery.
Ah...this is proof that we are also working. :)

Rebecca running.

Me...running. :)

The beautiful trail that we have had the pleasure of running and walking on while here. This trail is like 6km long I think and makes a circle around the city. I guess a long time ago there was a big wall around the city and when they took the wall down, they made the trail in its place. The entire thing is lined with canopy's of trees. It is just so peaceful.

A cool kids park along the trail. Inside the little plane were little seats for the kids to sit and pretend in too. It was super cute and I think Charlotte and Annabel would have loved it.

This is a tour around the city that I thought was kind of cool.

A cool building that reminded me of Rapunzel's tower.

A funny statue. :)
