Charlotte's First Christmas

This year we spent Christmas in Colville at Matt's parent's house. The drive was rough as we had a sick little girl, but once we were there, it was wonderful. We had a very traditional and beautiful Christmas. Here are a few pictures from our weekend away.

The Holidays

Sorry it has been so long since I have posted pics. Here are a few for you to enjoy in between the holidays. :) Also for those that we haven't been able to speak to recently I wanted to let you know that the helmet therapy is going really well and we are noticing a considerable difference already after only one month. The helmet is scheduled to come off mid February and it is looking as if we will meet that date. :) YAY!!! We had a great Thanksgiving and we are looking forward to celebrating Charlotte's first Christmas in a couple weeks. Happy Holidays!
A little preview into our Christmas card. :)

Helmet Therapy - Day 1

Today is the first day of Charlotte's helmet therapy to round out her flat head. She took to it pretty well, we think. Throughout the day she would fuss and pull at the strap near her ears, but all and all, she tolerated it pretty well. She has been asleep for the evening for two hours now too and hasn't yet woken up so that is a good sign. So...day one down...107 more to go. :)

Pumpkin Patch

Today we took Charlotte to her first pumpkin patch. We went with some friends, Steve and Julie Day and their son Jensen, and Kylie and Tim Grant and their son Tyler. It was a very nice morning. We all enjoyed ourselves very much. :) Here are some pictures from the day.

One Painful Week

So this last week was a very painful one for Charlotte. On Tuesday she was diagnosed with a double ear infection and on Wednesday her first tooth made its appearance. Poor little Charlotte was so miserable. We did take her to the doctor for the ear infections and received her first antibiotic though so her ears have felt progressively better over the week. Her teeth of course continue to bother her though. The last few nights she has woken us up crying due to the pain. Matt now seems to think that Tylenol is the answer for everything. This is not good. :(
On a lighter note, we did travel to Pullman for the weekend to see Muffy and Aaron and their new house. That was a lot of fun. It was a quick weekend but well worth the drive. While there we also got to see Gary and Stefanie, and the Hecker's. Here are a few pictures of Charlotte with her friend Adrian. :)

Charlotte at daycare

Here is a video of Charlotte at daycare. Her teachers caught her on camera laughing. Oh so sweet.

We made it!

So as some of you know I had to play single mom this week because Matt went to New Orleans, Louisiana for work. He left at 4am on Sunday morning and is getting home tomorrow (Saturday). It was a really hard week of getting myself ready and Charlotte ready in the morning, dropping her off at daycare, working all day, then picking her back up and trying to eat dinner, do chores etc in the evening. Thanks to my wonderful friends and family I was able to eat pretty well though through the week. Big thanks to my mom and dad, Cara, Penny, Regina, Jenni, Hans, and Liz. You guys were all wonderful coming up to visit me and help out. I truly appreciated it. Can't wait for Matt to get home tomorrow. YAY.

Helmet Therapy

It's official. Matt and I have decided to put Charlotte in a helmet to correct her flat head. :( We took her to Children's today to have her head looked at and the Nurse said there was a 50% chance that it would round back out somewhat on its own. 50% is not good enough for us though. I don't want to look back 10 years from now and regret fixing something that was fixable. So...we'll be making an appointment soon to have the helmet made.
On another note...Charlotte is also sick right now. She contracted her first cold about a week ago and has been congested ever since. Today was the first sign of a fever though. The thermometer read 102 tonight...so we are currently dealing with a fussy baby. We look forward to her becoming healthy again and her head becoming more round. :)

Charlotte on video

Here is a small video of Charlotte sitting. Please ignore all my talking...I was trying to get her to laugh more because of course she stopped doing that once the video camera came out. :)

Charlotte can sit on her own

Today Charlotte is 5 months old and she can officially sit on her own for a good 5 minutes or so. Our little girl is so talented. :) They must be practicing the art of sitting with her at daycare. Here is a shot of her sitting on our bed. That is where we practice since it has a nice soft landing in the event of a fall. :)

In her crib

So this morning when I went to wake up Charlotte to feed her before leaving for work I found her completely resting against the rails of the crib. Her whole body was pressed up against the side. She has never moved like that in the middle of the night before. When she goes down of course I place her directly in the center of the mattress. Now I understand why you have to box babies in. :)

Charlotte caught a cold

Well...Charlotte caught her first cold. A lot of people said that it was typical for babies to catch a cold within their first week of daycare...but I didn't believe they would be right on target. Charlotte is all congested with a head cold. No fever though...thank God. Hopefully it won't be too long of a stretch. I hate hearing her all uncomfortable when she breathes.

It's getting a little bit easier

Charlotte just finished her third day of daycare. As people have said...it is getting a little bit easier. I still hate leaving her and I constantly wonder what she is doing all day but I know she is being well taken care of. Props to La Petite Academy. Charlotte seems to love it there.

Charlotte started daycare

Charlotte's first day of daycare was today. Mom cried. Dad was fine. Charlotte didn't seem to realize what was going on. :) The teachers said she was happy most of the day...so that is good. Apparently she was only fussy right before I came to pick her up. When I got there though she was just lying in the swing pretty content. I can't believe I have to do this all over again tomorrow. I don't see how this can get any easier. :( well...day one down....lots more to go.

Here's a few pictures from this weekend:
